Nicholsfest 2017

On September 16th 2017 SOS Polonia took part in Nicholsfest, an annual family festival at St. Mary’s Station organised by Newtown Community Association in partnership with the police and the fire brigade.
Among the highlights participants could enjoy were: great music, sports competitions for both kids and adults, a show from a dance school, and an exhibition of fire trucks.
During the festival many different social organisations based in Southampton presented the work that they do. Councillor Les Harris, the Sheriff of Southampton, came to see all the dispalys. Visitors had an opportunity to talk about safety with local police officers and crew members from the fire and rescue service. NHS representatives were answering questions about health.
Visitors also had the opportunity to ask questions about health and wellbeing, and even to learn how to plant lettuce as a relaxation therapy. At SOS Polonia’s stand was a basket full of beautiful red apples for all to enjoy – along with information about our organisation . We made lots of new contacts and we are very excited about working with them in the future.
